Existentialism as described by Sartre, who I regard as it's real defining writer, is basically an emotional reaction or crisis to the belief that there is no God, meaning or point to life; one merely exists. Camus could be described as having an outlook similar to this, but apparently he didn't see himself as an existentialist in the same vein as Sartre. This is what happens at 5.38 on a Friday at work. |
